Anatoli Village

The traditional settlement Anatoli (sunrise), took its name by the first morning sun rays that flood the village.  Throughout its long history, the village flourished during the Venetian domination and occupied a strategic position, as the ruins of the great Venetian Tower on the east end of the village indicate.

Built amphitheatrically on the slopes of mountain Dikty (the reputed birthplace of Zeus), at 600m. altitude, the settlement offers a magnificent view of the South Cretan Sea. Its clear atmosphere and healthy, dry climate make Anatoli an ideal vacation destination during the whole year. Nowadays, the village has been officially classified and labeled as one of the 15 most beautiful villages of Crete and is gradually restored without compromising its traditional structures.

The cobblestone paths, the natural fountains, the old buildings and the beautiful, tranquil scenery will make your vacation experience here one to remember.
